How We Vet Exterminators
The 9-step verification every pest control company on the GetPestHelp network passes before we send them a single lead.
- State license check — Verify current pesticide applicator license through state Department of Agriculture database
- EPA registration verification — Confirm all products used are EPA-registered and appropriate for stated services
- General liability insurance — Minimum $1M coverage, certificate on file, renewed annually
- Errors & omissions insurance — Pest-specific E&O coverage, minimum $500K
- Background checks on technicians — Criminal background and driving record checks required
- Chemical handling certification — HAZWOPER training for staff handling restricted-use pesticides
- BBB rating check — Minimum B rating (or explanation for lower rating), no unresolved complaints
- State AG complaint check — No open state Attorney General complaints; historical complaints reviewed for pattern issues
- Mystery shop — Anonymous test call to verify quote accuracy, appointment reliability, and service ticket quality
Verification is re-run annually. If a company fails any check, they are removed from the network pending remediation.
